Two friends who were furloughed during the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak launched their own clothing line and achieved entrepreneurial success.
Cabin Crew Francesca Launches Flourishing Clothing Brand
Both from Southport, cabin crew Francesca, 27, and mortgage advisor Laura, 29, established their ultimate goal during lockdown and are now selling out every season.
They’ve been friends since high school and agreed to create The Nuevo Edit as they were worried about being made redundant.
The two confessed it was a major risk since none of them had any prior background in the fashion industry.
Before launching in August 2020, they spent months drafting their designs and fine-tuning their initial collection.
With the brand becoming a favorite with fashion bloggers and social media users, their success was straight away.
The Nuevo Edit focuses on timeless, classic and neutral pieces. They are designed to stay long in your wardrobe without them looking like “last year’s fashion.”
Laura said,
“We don’t focus on trend led pieces or throwaway fashion. All of our collections – past and present – are designed to form your capsule collection.
“You can mix and match pieces to create a variety of timeless and neutral outfits that are transitional for different seasons.”
Of their success, Laura added:
“We both invested our savings into this project – which when you’ve already been furloughed and you’re in the middle of a pandemic with so many unknowns, is very scary.”
“But the response has been incredible – we’ve had fashion bloggers with hundreds of thousands of followers get in touch to collaborate – and our collections sell out every season.”
The Nuevo Edit is available for purchase here.
