Cebu Pacific laid off roughly 1,300 staff last year as a result of travel restrictions imposed to combat the coronavirus pandemic.
The airine stated on Saturday that it is resuming cabin crew hiring as it braces for increased travel demand and a comeback in the tourism sector.
Cebu Pacific is Hiring Again
Cebu Pacific (CEB) stated that it has been expanding its network as domestic travel restrictions loosen and more destinations become accessible, which has allowed the airline to hire more cabin crew.
As the airline prepares for recovery, it has contacted and urged former cabin crew to reapply.
CEB Vice President for People and Admin, Felix Lopez said:
“We know the year 2020 has been one of the most challenging years for everyJuan. As we continue being cautiously optimistic and prepare to paint the skies yellow again, we are pleased to reopen the hiring of additional cabin crew.”
The company had 2,662 staff at the end of 2020, compared to 4,352 in 2019, before the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
Through its own employee vaccination program, JG Summit COVID Protect, and numerous partnerships with local government units around the country, CEB has achieved a 100% immunization rate for its active flight crew.
Recent improvements in the country’s COVID-19 response have prepared the way for a speedy recovery in the tourism and aviation sectors.
Excellent job, Cebu Pacific!
